Magistrate Mohamed Salieu Seray-Wurie at the Siaka Steven Street court #6 has on Monday 4th January 2016 described the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) as a disgrace and embarrassment to the nation.
He made the remarks when an alleged case of assault occasioning actual bodily harm involving one Fatima T. Sesay (accused) was mentioned for hearing by one Inspector Mohamed Barrie in the absence of the case files.
Magistrate Seray-Wurie asked the prosecutor for the case file, Inspector Barrie in his response said the files are yet to be brought by his junior colleague.
“You are a disgrace on to yourself and the nation. If you are not ready to come to court to prosecute, stay at home because you cannot take upon yourself and come to court without bringing the case files of the accused persons” said Magistrate Seray-Wurie.
He said the Police must be very serious in doing their word because he does not come to court to joke but to work.
