Sierra Leone’s cabinet has approved Le 2 Billion (about $ 250,000) for the country’s Premier League Board for the resumption of the premier league later in January.

Minister of Sport, Ibrahim Yelenkeh told Reporters that the first tranche of half the amount would be disbursed on Wednesday 2 January and the rest later in the month.

According to the SLFA Ag Secretary General, Abdul Rahman Swarray, the amount matches FIFA’s annual assistance project to the country.

The country has gone four years without a domestic league due to bickering within the football fraternity.
