Inspector General (IG) of Police Francis Munu last week told the media that they have paid Le16 million to the public for information that led to the capture of 12 clique leaders (five 0s) and their deputies.

Intimating the press last week, IG Munu said they were very appreciative of the fact that the people of Sierra Leone took the opportunity to help the police and also trusted the police that they will be paid if the information given them is correct.

“Currently we have four more information that we are verifying now and after they prove to be correct we will pay for them and the arrests will be effected.”

The IG said most of the people they have captured are carrying tattoos like MOB, HOB, CCC, angel and two-crossed swords. These are the people he said they are looking for and they will not relent until they rid the city and its environs of the cligue boys that have been causing mayhem in the country.

IG Munu averred that all of those arrested will be brought to justice and they are collecting enough evidence from public that they will use to prosecute them.

“We do not want to see the event that they are charged to court and later freed because of lack of evidence, we want to make sure that they are tried and proved guilty so they will face the full force of the law.”

He said they are still calling on the populace to give the police more information leading to more arrest as they want to bring sanity to the city because they don’t want this to continue as the elections are round the corner.

IG Munu made it very clear that they are working with the people, the military, the Metropolitan Police, Prisons Officers and the public because they want to bring out all these boys in every community out to face the law.

“I want to thank all the players that are working with us and want to also thank the Ministry that have so much confidence in the police force. As I have always said, the police is here to protect lives and property, if these boys don’t want the populace to rest, they themselves will not rest, we will fish them out from every corner, we will smoke them out from every hole and we will rid the streets of Freetown once and for all.”

The IG said the raid on these clique boys will continue and they are still relying on the public to come out and give them the information so that they can bring sanity and peace to the country.
