As the momentum to succeed President Koroma is developing in both the ruling All People Congress Party (APC) and the main opposition Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP), some aspirants for the big job are beginning to campaign with their wives and children while others are not doing so.

Amongst those that have been coming out with their wives are Brigadier Julius Maada Bio, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, Andrew Keili, Alimamy Pepito Koroma, Victor Boackarie Foh and Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella.

Those that have not been moving with their wives are John Bornor Sisay, John Oponjo Benjamin, Alie Kabbah, Abubakarr Kalokoh, Minkailu Mansaray, Alpha Khanu and of course Kamarainba Mansaray.

The reason for them not to move around with their wives may not be unconnected to the fact that some of them have no home that they manage and control.

The first lady in any country normally have a pivotal role to play in running the state particularly when the President wants to make important decisions.

At times the first lady also helps the President in developing and implementing programmes that will help the vulnerable particularly women and children in the state.

There are times politicians do not only campaign with their wives but also the rest of their families to show how responsible they are in running and managing their homes.

Thus it is good for Sierra Leone to assess the families of those who have declared their intentions to become President to know if they are responsible.
