The Leader and Chairman of the Alliance Democratic party Mohamed Kamarainba Manasaray has told Journalist that President Ernest Bai Koroma will be an ex-rejected president of the nation if he dares to try more time or third term in office.

Kamarainba made this statement during a press briefing held at his party office to inform journalist about the petition he made to the High Court of Sierra Leone on the eligibility of the candidature of the newly elected ‘ineligible’ Member of Parliament for constituency 030 in Bombali district, Ibrahim Ben Kargbo whom he claimed doubles as the substantive Special Adviser to the President.

He said his petition constitutes the National Electoral commission (NEC), the National Returning Officer of NEC, the Bombali District Returning Officer and IB Kargbo.

He added that as a person he wants the public, sympathizers, well wishers and patriots to know the foundation upon which he is petitioning Ibrahim Ben Kargbo.

He pointed out that IB Kargbo was a person disqualified from being a member of parliament by virtue of the fact he was employed as Special Adviser to the president of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.

Kamarainba furthered that the elected parliamentarian was paid a monthly salary by the government out of the consolidated fund as such he was a public officer and for him to eligible to contest for parliamentarian election required him to have resigned from his advising role and stop receiving salary as from December 2014.

He said IB Kargbo was a person disqualified from being a member of parliament under the provisions of sub-section (2) (a) of section 63 of the public elections act 2012 and sub-sections 1 (b) of section 76 of the constitution and therefore should not have been allowed to proceed to the elections.

The Chairman and leader stated that his petition is a gear towards promoting good governance in Sierra Leone and upholds the rule of law.
