The prime suspect in the alleged over two hundred Million Leones theft matter involving the 2012 SLPP Vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Kadi Sesay, Abdul Raman Sesay who is a former cleaner at the residence of Dr. Kadi Sesay at Sunshine Valley, Hill Station in Freetown was on Saturday 27th February 2016 arrested at Kamakwie by Detective Police Inspector Joshua Moosa attached to the Major Incident Unit (CID) Headquarter in Freetown.


The suspect who had been on the run for the past three months is presently detained at the Criminal Investigation Department awaiting formal charge.

Four accused persons including Kadi Coker, Kanko Samura, Fatmata Turay and Bai John Kamara on the 29th December 2015 in Freetown were arrested and charged to court in relation to the alleged theft at Dr. Kadi Sesay’s house whiles the main suspect Abdul Raman Sesay was on the run.

The accused were arraigned before Magistrate Mohamed Sallieu Seray Wurie of Magistrate Court No.6 on five counts related charges ranging from receiving contrary to Section 33(1) of the Larceny Act 1916 and accessory after the fact to larceny in a dwelling house contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence, the first accused Kadi Coker on a date between the 29th December 2015 and 1st January 2016 at the Sunshine Valley, Hill Station in Freetown did receive valuable items equivalent to eleven Million six hundred thousand Leones from Abdul Raman Sesay knowing same to have been stolen property of Dr. Kadi Sesay, complainant in the matter.

On the other count, the accused were alleged to have received physical cash of foreign currencies and white rice bag containing monies knowing same to have been stolen by the prime suspect Abdul Raman Sesay.

On the count of accessory, the accused Kanko Samura and Fatmata Turay well knowing that Abdul Raman had attempted to steal and did steal from the dwelling house of Dr. Kadi Sesay and thereafter received, comfort, harbor, assisted and maintained Abdul Raman Sesay.

The accused were not represented by counsel and have since been remanded at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre in Freetown.
