A serious fire outbreak at Angola Town in Freetown has left at least 40 houses raved to dust leaving over 1,000 residents homeless, many injured and billion leones worth properties wasted.


Sierraloaded gathered that the fire which burnt down the entire area of Fort Street known as “Angola Town” occurred around 9pm on Thursday night.

Witnesses said the unavailability of Water and fire men made the fire escalate spreading across quickly to other houses along the street.

“The fire force are here to cool the situation but they are late. The fire is spreading fast and they have not been able to gain entrance”, Komba who witnessed the incident told us around 9:45pm yesterday night.

An eyewitness said that though no life was lost in the inferno, property worth billions of leones were destroyed. He furthered that half of the street was burnt when He visited the scene this morning.
