Moseray Fadika and Kandeh Yumkella enjoyed a kick-off with a host of supporters and football fans on Confederation of Football Association( COFA) League Grand Final yesterday Sunday 10th July, 2016 at the Siaka Stevens Stadium between Mountain City Football Club and the Fullah Town Football Club.


The football spectators responded with loud applause when Ambassador Fadika of the All Peoples Congress Party (APC) and Mr Yumkella of Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) were presented on the football pitch in a jam-packed stadium, and they smiled and waved.

“I think it’s a big honour and privilege for all of us that Ambassador Fadika and Mr Yumkella are right here with us from the both the APC and SLPP. This is a show of peace and unity. It’s like a dream come true for all football lovers across Sierra Leone”, an excited football fan said.

The presence of Ambassador Fadika and Mr Yumkella adds a buzz to what’s a solid football tournament at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.

Early on Friday the APC Party Leadership Contender and Presidential Hopeful, Ambassador Gibril Santigie Moseray Fadika, delivered an inspirational speech before a joint meeting of Mountain City Football Club and the Fullah Town Football Club, calling on supporters to promote peace, unity and tolerance.

He said, “Sport is an essential part of education and teaches us the values of respect for rules, team-work, equality, fair-play and non-violence. Therefore, I appeal to all supporters to refrain from violence and spread this message of peace, unity, tolerance…have the courage to address your disagreements in a peaceful way”.
