Report reaching Sierraloaded has it that the Board and Executive of Sierra Leone Cricket Association have agreed to terminate the services of all coaches and staff working in the association.


This, the CEO of the association Francis Samura said he was authorized by the board of the association to terminate the services of staff and coaches employed by the association at the end of 2015.

He went on to say that the executive will later meet with the board to appoint coaches for national teams and other staff to work for the association.

He went on to say that this time round they will be signing a lucrative contract with strong agreement with the coaches which he said will be fired immediately if they failed to perform.

Sierra Leone’s senior national cricket team will be taken part in the NWACC Senior Male tournament in Nigeria March 2016 and head for South Africa few days after the NWACC Tournament for the ICC Division 3 play off.

The team will proceed to the division 2 leagues few months back in South Africa. Beside the senior team the U-19 male team will take part in the ICC U-19 tour in South Africa August 2016 and in October 2016, the female team will travel to Ghana to defend the NWACC Female tournament champion trophy.

Samura went on to say that their aim is to win all the tournaments which he said they have players for them and they only need hard work and caring coaches.

He said this time round they are going to choose among the lots of coaches they have and go into agreement with them and if they failed to maintain high standard they will be sacked.

The senior team combined with the U-19 players are presently training every morning under the guidance of the technical Director Cyril Panda.

Apart from the everyday training, there is also a test match of every Sunday in the week.

The CEO said they need millions of Leones to take part in the above tournaments, noting that time is running fast against them.

In this case, he said he is calling on the attention of the government, business houses and individuals to help the association financially or by other means to achieve their goals.
