Magistrate Manuella Harding at the Pademba road court #2, in Freetown yesterday (Thursday January 21, 2015) sent one Felix Ngaojia confirmed to be a fishing boat captain to prison on remand at the Pademba road male correctional centre for fraudulently converting to his own benefit one Global Positioning System (GPS) value four million two hundred thousand Leone belonging to the complaint Halil Toffic a Lebaness national.
The accused Felix Ngaojia is confronted with one criminal charge bordering on fraudulent conversion.
The prosecution led by Inspector Moses More alleged that the accused on Sunday 6th December 2015 at Acqua sports Club Murray Town in Freetown fraudulently converted to his own use and benefit a Global Positioning System (GPS) property on one Halil Toffic a fishing company proprietor.
After the charge was read to the accused he registered a plea of ‘Not Guilty’. He told the court of not having knowledge of the allegations levied against him.
The prosecution informed the court that his witnesses were unavoidably absent. He pleaded with the court to have the matter adjourned to next week to enable his to write and serve subpoena to his witnesses.
There was no legal representation for the accused at the time he was dragged and arraigned before the court.
Meanwhile, magistrate Manuella Harding urged the prosecutor to do all necessary to have his witnesses ready to open his case at the next adjourned date.
However, the accused was incarcerated at the Pademba road prison and have his matter adjourned to Wednesday January 27, 2016.
