Platinum Media has learnt from reliable sources that Ministers who were recently sacked by President Ernest Bai Koroma for non-performance are still carrying government diplomatic passports which they ought to have surrendered immediately they lost their respective positions.

This information if true will create serious embarrassment for government and can even compromise our national security.

It can be recalled that former Vice President Alhaji Sam Sumana also succeded in using a government diplomatic passport to travel out of the country long after he had lost that privilege. Sam Sumana is now in Ghana apparently laughing at the failure of our less proactive immigration and security systems.

It is common knowledge that government Ministers, and other state officials are entitled to diplomatic passports when in office but will immediately lose such privilege the moment they lose their offices.

We are yet to confirm if former Lands Minister, Musa Tarawallie who is currently under investigation and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Frank Kargbo still hold their diplomatic passports. If this is the case, government should act fast and withdraw such privilege from both Musa Tarawallie and former Attorney General Frank Kargbo.

We know former Minister of Agriculture, Sam Sesay is still in active top level government service and therefore deserves to carry his own diplomatic passport.

Platinum Media is demanding an explanation from the authorities concerned as we would not wish to see another embarrassment for government over our diplomatic passports.
