An alliance of political parties called Coalition for Change (C4C) has endorsed the elected former Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Chief Samuel Sam Sumana as their Presidential candidate.

VP Sam Sumana returned home on Thursday 13th April from Accra, Ghana to register to vote and to run for President in the 2018 Presidential and Legislative elections. He was greeted by thousands of supporters who drove with him from the Lungi Airport to the capital Freetown.

A release dated 13 April, 2017 states, “The executive of the Coalition For Change Movement (C4C) has today Thursday 13th April, 2017 unanimously supported a motion moved by Ex-officio member Col. (Rtd) Idris Kamara to “officially recognize” the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Chief Abubakarr Sidique Sam Sumana as the Executive Leader of our movement”

Chief Sumana who was sacked as Vice President by President Ernest Bai Koroma under very controversial circumstances left for a self-imposed exile to Ghana more than a year after the country’s Supreme Court endorsed his sacking.

He was expelled from the ruling APC party before he was sacked as Vice President.

Meanwhile, VP Sam Sumana left Freetown for his home district of Kono on Saturday after duly registering as a voter on Friday.
