The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Sierra Leone has today failed woefully to secure the conviction of Mr. Herbert H.I. Davies-Cole.

Davies-Cole is former Registrar of the Sierra Leone Law School who was accused of improperly conferring an advantage on law students as he allegedly added unearned grades to certain students which enabled them to meet the threshold to pass the June 2012/2013 Bar Final Examination.

In his ruling, Justice Alusine Sesay ruled that the Commission failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt in all the nine counts and returned a verdict of not guilty.

He was tried on eight of abuse of office and one count of deceiving a principal all contrary to the ACC Act of 2008.
