22-year old Bockarie Koroma of Mendama village in the Kandu Leppiama Chiefdom in Kenema district, a class six pupil of Roman Catholic Primary School at Leveuma is alleged to have murdered his school mate, 17-year old Aminata Morie of the same village.


According to the Police Media Officer attached to the Community Relation Department of the Kenema Police Division, Police Constable 12208 Robers Hassan said the deceased met her death on Monday, 30th May 2016. He explained that she met with the accused at a averanda where they were plaiting their hair and Bockarie had gone to hang some laundered clothes to dry.

According to the Police, water from the soaked clothes sprinkled on the ladies and they started grumbling, but according to the police, that matter was settled.

After a while, the Police explained, the deceased reportedly entered her room and came out with a cup of water which she allegedly splashed on the accused and ran away.

The accused reportedly chased the deceased forced her on the ground and rained some blows on her body. The deceased vow to report the boy to his father later in the evening, but then went home and report the matter to her parents.

In the evening when the accused father Brima Koroma came from his farm, the parents including the deceased reportedly went and complained the matter. According to the police it during this complaint that the deceased dropped and became unconscious.

She was rushed to the Levuma Health Post where a medical personnel battled to save her life but later died. The suspect is now with the police in at Kenema helping with investigations.
